Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone aged 19+ who is already working in Health and Social Care. This can either be in a paid role or a voluntary capacity.
There are no formal entry requirements. However, a good level of written and spoken English is required.
Agreement of applicant’s employer.
Interview and assessment.
What will I study?
The mandatory units include: promoting communication, personal development, equality and inclusion, duty of care, the role of the Health and Social Care worker, safeguarding and protection, promoting and implementing person-centred approaches, health and safety and handling information.
There are then additional optional units which build the qualification to 58 credits. The optional units you choose are specific to your job role.
How will I be assessed?
Workplace assessments and observations of performance.
This course is a mixture of competence and knowledge units which will all be delivered in the workplace.

1- HSC level 1: 2 weeks
2- HSC level 2: 3 months
3- HSC level 3: 4/6 months
4- HSC level 5: 12 months
1- HSC level 1: Free
2- HSC level 2: £450
3- HSC level 3: £850 or 24+ Advance Learning Loan.
4- HSC level 5: £1500
The 24+ Advance Learning Loan finance only the course for a level 3 qualification.
